This program provides training in the four areas required by the Association for Play Therapy for therapists interested in gaining the credential of Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Spread over a two year period of meeting one Saturday per month in the months September through June, participants learn about the history of play therapy, theories of play therapy, techniques of play therapy, and applications of play therapy to special populations.
The program provides 120 continuing education hours out of the 150 required by the Association. Therapists will receive approved credits through the Association of Play Therapy, as well as licensing renewal credits granted by the Pennsylvania Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors.
